How are we halfway through 2026 already?! More importantly, how are those submission goals for 2026 coming?

Yeah, ours too.

This quarter, we’ve got several journals that are opening for individual poems between June and August, such as Palette Poetry’s call for Featured Poetry, which pays $50 per poem (up to $150). There are also contests, such as Dogwood’s annual contest for an individual poem with a $1,000 prize! (The submission period is July 1 to September 5.)

We continue to include a tab on this spreadsheet titled “Awards for Self-Published Books.”

If you’ve decided to self-publish your collection, there are opportunities you can apply for this quarter after publication.

If you publish through Amazon KDP, the 2026 Kindle Storyteller Award is open for entries until August 31, and carries a £20,000 literary prize!

Our submissions list is designed to help writers like you find your dream small press, create new goals for yourself, find new opportunities, and publish your work with places from our curated selection process. If there’s something you want more of, or if you’re a press or lit magazine that wants to be added to our list, let us know!

Comment with your fave opportunities below, we’d love to see what you’re thinking.

Until next time!

Psst…

If you notice an error or if you’d like to be added to the list, please email hello@telltellpoetry.com with WHERE TO SUBMIT in the subject line!
